Facebook has confirmed that it does use phone numbers that its users provide for security purposes to target them with ads. If you are using the so-called Two-Factor authentication, which allows a vendor to send a code to your phone for you to use before you sign into your online account, you may want to reconsider.
If you want to manage this on your Facebook account here’s how to do it.
- To turn on or manage two-factor authentication:
- Scroll to the bottom of any page and click Settings & Privacy > Security and Login.
- Scroll down and click Use two-factor authentication.
- Click Set Up.
